Will Sina Weibo be shut down? In spite of investor fears, Chinese IT blogger Keso offers three reasons as to why China’s Twitter clone is here to stay:

(1) The public needs an outlet to express their views and emotions. A visible outlet is safer than an invisible one.

(2) Sina Weibo is controlled by the government’s own people. The risks from closing down Weibo are greater than the risks from not closing it.

(3) The government can also use Weibo to its advantage.
