Broken Bells and Christina Hendricks Join Forces for "The Ghost Inside"

In an absurd intersection of pop culture, Mad Men bombshell Joan Holloway (Christina Hendricks) is transported from the nostalgic sixties to a robotic future. Her intergalactic journey is scored by Broken Bells, the new musical project by James Mercer (formerly of The Shins). Keep an eye out for the neat cameo of Mercer and his partner-in-crime DJ Danger Mouse.

I’m excited to see Hendricks getting more exposure outside of Mad Men; her acting is stellar in the show (EDIT: to clarify, I hadn’t forgotten about Hendricks in Firefly; I was only referring to her current projects). And while we’re on the topic of exposure, I should probably mention her curvaceous image has instigated a lot of talk about standards of female beauty. I, for one, think it’s great that we have an alternative icon of sexiness beyond stick-thin wafers.

      It’s more than just big boobs, Blake – I’m referring to her entire full figure. We don’t tend to see women in mainstream media like that anymore, and if you do, they’re plasticized in a way that’s so unnatural. Sorry, it is partially political, but only in the sense that, I’m glad Christina Hendricks is around to show us that there’s more than one kind of “hotness.”

        Michael – I totally agree. Big boobs? Sure, we see them all the time and are expected to think they’re hot. Examples: Pam Anderson, Heidi Montag, Tila Tequila….etc etc. Really, these are barbie dolls, but with more plastic.

        Christina Hendricks does indeed have big boobs, but she has a real body, with curves all over. She is beautiful, weighs more than 110 pounds, and her (Weight [boobs]) to (Weight[body]) ratio is far less than the aforementioned “ladies.” She is refreshing and exciting in a way that is entirely novel in the US today.

        Bravo, Christina, for being AWESOME! Plus, she can act! She will always be my Miss YoSaffBridge Reynolds.
